Have you ever broken off a wooden spoon trying to get ice cream out of the carton? How about watching your one month old ice cream scoops evacuation mechanism fail, never to work right again?

That's all over with the Zeroll Ice Cream Scoop & Spade. The secret is a permanent, safe defrosting fluid sealed into the handle of both the Zeroll ice cream scoop and the Zeroll ice cream spade.

Beneath the highly-polished surface, this fluid transfers the warmth of your hand into the tool, allowing it to cut through, scoop and release even the hardest ice cream, instantly.

Of course you can give the Zeroll tools a helping hand if you briefly hold the handle under warm running water.

The Zeroll scoop and spade work like a charm, with no moving parts to break or wear out. The scoop gives you nice, rounded, fairly small servings; the spade digs out bigger chunks and is great for getting in the corners at the bottom of a carton.

Zeroll scoops are in use at ice cream parlors everywhere, and are on display at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The Zeroll ice cream scoop and ice cream spade will last forever with just a couple of simple cautions: don't ever put them in the dishwasher and don't expose them to heat in excess of 140°. Now dig in!

Have you ever heard the marketing lead-in, "It slices, it dice, makes Juliann fries"?

Well the Apple Mate II doesn't do all that. But it cores, it pares, and it slices. Still not impressed? What if we told you the Apple Mate II does all three at the same time! If you've ever had to do all those things to a whole lot of apples, you can appreciate just how handy the Apple Mate II really is.

In fact, the Apple Mate II will increase your output, and decrease your effort, whether you're preparing apples for baking now, or making applesauce to put up for the winter.

The Apple Mate II clamps to your counter, has a heavy-duty frame made of cast aluminum, so it's lightweight and won't rust, yet will hold up to bushels of apples.

The peeling blade, as well as the coring/slicing blade, is made of stainless steel, and the peeling blade is adjustable for different peel thicknesses.

With a quick adjustment, it will also core and slice only, or will pare only.

It's available in the slate blue color shown, or in crimson red.

Source Kitchen Kaboodle Retail Price $16.95 for the Pull-Cord Centrifugal Salad Spinner
and $24.95 for the Plunger-Style Centrifugal Salad Spinner

If you're a salad lover, you know how hard it can be to get the residual water out of your salad vegetables. You may have even invested in a salad spinner and been disappointed by the results. But that's about to change.

The Oxo Good Grips™ Spinner and the Salad Spinner by Zyliss are the only two salad spinners recommended by Cook's Illustrated, and both are available from Kitchen Kaboodle.

Normally, all salad spinners dry the vegetables by spinning them so fast that the water is thrown off. They all employ a basket that spins inside a bowl. But not all salad spinners are easy to hold and turn, not all are stable, and not all do a good job of spinning off the water.

In all cases however, the Oxo Good Grips™ and Zyliss salad spinner excel. Both have an approximately 5-qt. basket, but each uses a distinctly different method of spinning that basket.

The Oxo Good Grips™ spinner features a unique pump knob located on the top of the bowl. To set the basket spinning, you simply push down on the knob; it springs back up after each push.

The Zyliss uses a pull cord that emanates from the top of the bowl. Pulling on the cord sets the basket to spinning and pulls the cord back in for the next pull.

Cooks Illustrated awarded a first-place tie to both spinners. They gave the Oxo Good Grips™ spinner the highest marks for ease of use while the Zyliss won for best drying performance.

The Oxo Good Grips™ features a push-button brake to stop the spinning; the basket of the Zyliss changes direction with each pull of the cord.

Whether you'd rather push or pull, you'll get a good salad spinner that will save you time while performing one of the less glamorous tasks of everyday cooking.

Source Kitchen Kaboodle Retail Price $9.95 for the Microplane Zester
and $14.95 for the Microplane Fine Grater with Plastic Handle

Not all graters make the grate (sorry, we couldn't resist). These graters set a new standard in what is otherwise a pretty common kitchen tool.

Microplane Graters are different is the way they're made. Instead of relying on holes punched in a flat sheet of steel or tin, Microplane graters employ a process called photo-etching. Photo-etching actually dissolves holes in metal and leaves behind a razor-sharp, blade-like edge on the working side of each hole. This means that instead of forcing cheese or citrus rind into the holes of a grater, relying on sheer force to do the work, you actually slice tiny shavings of food with the hundreds of little razors.

The difference is truly astounding: citrus zest falls like snowflakes, cheese grates with a just a gentle sweep over the Microplane's surface. No more crumbled hunks of cheese, no more raw lemons, no more aching muscles or injured fingers!

The Microplane zester pictured here is 12" long and can be held in the hand or set across a bowl. It's ideal for zesting citrus fruit, mincing ginger, or shaving garlic.

The Microplane fine grater (not shown) comes with a comfortable plastic handle, has a 5"-long grating surface and makes quick work of cheese, chocolate, garlic, onions, ginger, even nuts.

We like gadgets that incorporate multiple functions, and the All-In-One Timer/Thermometer and the Digital Temp Fork fit that order quite nicely. It eliminates the guesswork of cooking and roasting, so you can rest assured that your meat - turkey, chicken, beef, or pork - will be healthful and perfectly done at the internal temperature you choose.

The All-In-One Timer/Thermometer features a probe that remains in the meat during cooking, and sounds an alarm when the meat reaches the internal temperature you desire.

The probe is attached to the instrument by a thin, flexible metal cord that passes through the seal on your oven door without harming the seal or allowing hot oven air to be released.

Just pre-set the desired internal temperature, insert the probe, and go about your business. When that temperature is reached, the alarm lets you know. It also functions as a conventional timer.

With the 10" Digital Temp Fork, you can select the desired internal temperature, or tell the microchip what you're cooking. Press a few simple buttons to set your desired temperature, or tell the fork what type of meat you're cooking, and whether you prefer it rare, medium-rare, medium, or well-done. Then, just quickly insert the fork in the meat. If your temperature, or your specifications, are met, the fork lets out a beep.

The Temp Fork is quite versatile, equally at home on the range, the oven, or on the grill. It's great for grilling; it reads accurately in meat as thin as 1/2" and, of course, functions as a fork to lift and turn meat. It's a great gift for the grill chef in your family.

Source Kitchen Kaboodle Retail Price $39.95 for the 1Pint Cream Whipper and $8.95 for a box of 10 additional cartridges

Nothing's better with desserts than freshly made whip cream. But we all know what a hassle it is to make. Not anymore!

The Whipped Cream Siphons from Kitchen Kaboodle use a single N2O capsule to "whip" cream almost instantly. You just insert the capsule into the siphon, releasing the gas into the siphon's cylinder. Give a couple of gentle shakes and you're done!

Then you're ready to dispense fresh, natural whipped cream with just the touch of your finger. Use with desserts, into hot drinks, wherever and whenever you want. Not only that, the N2O displaces the oxygen in the cylinder, allowing the cream to stay fresh and whipped in your refrigerator for weeks! No more waste.

If flavored whipped cream is your thing, you can add coffee syrups or flavored extracts to the cylinder before you whip. You can even put in chocolate syrup.

You can choose between the one-pint size, which comes with one N2O capsule, and the 1/2-pint size, which is complete with five capsules.

If you love Lattes, mochas,  cappuccinos, and other such beverages, you know they all depend on frothed milk. But if you don't have an espresso machine with a steamer, you're out of luck, right?

No longer, thanks to the battery-powered Caffe Froth Turbo. It not only froths milk all by itself, it does in it 20 seconds or less! And all at the touch of a button.

The secret is a frothing disk, spinning at 28,000 rpm, incorporating air into the milk and creating rich, creamy froth right in your glass.

To froth milk for lattes, mochas or cappuccinos, just place the Caffe Froth Turbo into 6 ozs. of cold non-fat milk and gently move up and down for 15 seconds. Then, just heat the frothed milk in the microwave and pour into your coffee or espresso. It's that easy!

The Caffe Froth Turbo is also ideal for making delicious hot chocolate and speedy smoothies. It will whip cream in less than 3 minutes and beat 2 egg whites in less than 4 minutes. It makes quick work of powdered hot chocolate or coffee drink mixes; just 20 seconds of frothing right in your glass and you're ready to heat in the microwave.

The Caffe Froth Turbo uses 4 "AA" batteries (not included). A simple push button on the top activates the stainless-steel frothing disk.

Clean up is easy, just place the stem (made of stainless steel) and the frothing disk in warm, soapy water and run for a few seconds. The Caffe Froth Turbo comes with an adhesive-backed attachment ring that lets you hang the frother on the side of most coffeemakers, and also includes an acrylic sheath to protect the stem and frothing disk when the machine is stored in a drawer. Available in white or black.

Only the coolest tea pot available today, the Assam Tea Press from Bodum is a teapot not only looks different, it works like no other teapot available today.

The result is the easiest, most foolproof way to brew the perfect cup of tea you'll ever seen.

Loose tea or a teabag goes into the central glass cylinder. You than add boiling water from your kettle to the Assam, insert the plunger and lid, leaving the plunger in the "up" position. While the tea steeps, neatly contained in the central cylinder, you can keep an eye on the color, taking the guesswork out of obtaining the desired strength.

Then, when your tea is just the way you like it, you push down on the plunger. This pushes the tea leaves or teabag to the bottom of the cylinder, out of contact with the tea, thereby halting the brewing process. To clean up, simply lift out the central cylinder and remove the leaves or bag.

The Assam Tea Press comes in three sizes; 16, 32, and 48 ounces. The measurements refer to the full-to-the-brim capacity of the pot, so when you're brewing, remember to leave a little room for the plunger. It's made of boro-silicate glass, the same material used to create coffeemaker carafes, so it can withstand the temperature of boiling water.

This glass can handle high heat, but is fairly brittle, so avoid close encounters between the Assam and sinks and counter tops. To protect the Assam against breakage, and to protect heat-sensitive surfaces such as tables, a cork coaster is included with each tea press.

If you like a good cup of tea, or know someone who does, the Assam Tea Press will be a real treasure. It works wonderfully and is another example of the striking design, both beautiful and functional, that marks all fine products from Bodum.

These are just so cool. Everyone knows how great a shish kabob, fresh off the grill is. The common problem is, everyday barbeque skewers just don't fit very well on a plate. They're awkward, they take up too much room, they roll around, they even fall off the plate onto the ground.

That's why Circle Kabobs are so useful. Sturdy steel skewers, curved into 7.5" semi-circles, Circle Kabobs fit neatly and safely onto most any plate. They leave plenty of room for the rest of the meal, and they stay right on the plate, where they belong. Just load them up with meat, vegetables, or seafood, plop them on the grill, then serve. They're a simple, affordable way to make grilling, and dining, more enjoyable. Now, why didn't someone think of this before? We asked the same question, and Kitchen Kaboodle supplied the answer.

Circle Kabobs come in a box of 4 skewers.
